Msolla threatens Mguto in race for TPLB top post

TANZANIA Premier League Board (TPLB) incumbent chairman Stephen Mguto is facing stiff challenge from Young Africans chairman Mshindo Msolla and Simba chairman Murtaza Mangungu ahead of the board’s fresh polls.

The new elections have been scheduled on November 27th in Kigoma region where eligible candidates will be elected to command the board for a specific period of time.

Until now, the chairmanship position is the one which has attracted attention of many people since it has brought together two aspirants (Msolla and Mangungu) who are ready to challenge Mguto who is seeking new term in officer.

The trio will be vying for one chairmanship position hence it is going to be a neck to neck battle with each looking determined to take up the challenges of occupying the board's hot seat.

From the statement released by the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Elections Committee Vice Chairman Benjamin Kalume, the final scruitiny of the contestants will be held between October 26th to 28th. The statement also declared other posts to be filled during the elections as Vice Chairman which has one contender Nassor Mohamed from Azam FC.

The other post to be covered is for the members to represent NBC Premier League clubs which requires three people and the three existing names are Shiraz Batchul (Mbeya Kwanza), Kheri Missinga (KMC) and Joseph Mlundi (Mbeya City).

Also, the looming TPLB elections will fill the vacant posts of members representing championship sides which demands two representatives but until now, three aspirants have emerged who are Mohamed Kinjenge (African Lyon), Japhet Makau (Fountain Gate) and Hatibu Enzi (African Sports).

The last polls will be for the one representative of the First League.
