After his flamboyant return to the Premier League next season, veteran striker Amis Tambwe has pledged to maintain his scoring sharpness, warning rivals that his usual marksmanship is still intact.
Sports pundits have been in doubt if Tambwe, who has been among the best scorers in the Premier League, will maintain his sharpness with the newly promoted DTB in the coming 2022/2023 season.
Tambwe, who is among the respected strikers in the domestic football league was the top scorer in the just ended Championship league and that has intensified his reputable profile. His return has since been facilitated by the promotion of his side DTB who finished second on the championship table with 66 points similar to Ihefu who emerged champions courtesy of superior goal average.
"I usually say playing in the Championship is more difficult than trading in the Premier League because the latter embraces professionalism while in the former it is speed and muscles that count most. "As such; I am not afraid of stepping back in the top flight league because I know it very well and this is an opportunity for me to stamp another remarkable reputation and I am ready to do that," he said.
Talking about his marksmanship, Tambwe said that scoring 14 goals in the Championship is a clear indication that his scoring instincts are still intact and ready to cause damage to the adversaries in the coming season.
Moreover, the Burundian import said emerging the top scorer when he was trading at giants Simba and Young Africans at different intervals makes him to be certain of achieving more with his current club, DTB next season.
Sharing his traditional derby experience, he disclosed that it is a match which can either promote a player or demote him as such; what he used to do was to take the game normally while aiming to achieve more.
Meanwhile, pundits have already forecasted DTB as a surprise package in the upcoming season saying they have what it takes to achieve more and be a competitive team not to underrate.
They will be parading in the top flight league for the first time in the club's history and they have already announced to further improve the squad in order to withstand pressure they are going to face. Also, the Mbarali-based outfits, Ihefu have also insisted that they will reshape their team by bringing on board new faces to make it concrete and avoid the past experience when they got promoted and relegated at the end of the season.
Under the tutelage of the Head Coach, Zuberi Katwila, Ihefu have had a marvelous Championship campaign hence if they look to do the same in the top flight league in 2022/2023 season.
