The Institute of Internal Auditors Tanzania (IIA) said in a statement that those apppointed are Mr Augustino Mbogella and Mr Ahadi Chacha. The two are former IIA presidents and current directors.
Mr Mbogella has been nominated to serve on the International Internal Audit Standards Board (IIASB) whose mission is to develop, issue, maintain and promote the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (Standards) on a worldwide basis.
Mr Chacha has been nominated to the Public Sector Audit Committee whose mission is to influence and provide leadership and advice to the IIA.
"These nominations put Tanzania at the global map of the internal audit profession which is growing in importance and scope. The timing is perfect considering that the profession of internal audit in Tanzania, particularly in public sector is aligning itself with global best
"Having played a role in developing the profession in Tanzania, East Africa and Africa at large, I feel honoured and privileged to get this opportunity," Mr Mbogella said. Established in 1941, the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) is an international professional association of more than 170,000 members in over 165 countries in the world.
